For a relaxed/glam take on our fave haircut - the Lob - this season:
1. Use soft textured products, not hard gels, sprays or waxes. Leave-in conditioners and light keratin-infused products add enough hold and definition while leaving the hair soft to the touch.
2. Layer products. Apply your leave-in conditioner first, then add a shine or blowout serum (or both) and finish dry with a little more product for a textured, yet polished look.
3. Use a flat iron or wand, depending on the texture you want. Slide your flat iron root to tip through horizontal or vertical sections, turning it out a just a touch at the ends (sectioning horizontally will kick the ends up, vertically will kick them back, away from the face). Or, wrap large 2 inch sections around your barrel iron or wand, turning hair away from the face. For a softer, more relaxed wave, start wrapping each section at least 2-3" away from the root and leave the same amount loose at the ends.
4. Mix it up. Alternate your styling from sleek and smooth to waved and tousled, depending on your outfit; In a chic business suit? Go sleek. Relaxed jeans and boho top? Go wavy.
5. Make it last. Who wants to style their hair every day? We know you don't! Use a sulfate, residue-free cleanser to keep hair cleaner longer and a dry-apply product to re-style second day. Our stylists' fave is Beautiful Leave-in Hydrating Elixir.
